Health
Heart & Cardiovascular Program
Research, education and better cardiac care.
We fund cardiovascular medical research, educate the public on healthy living, and support appropriate cardiac care — reducing disability and death from cardiovascular disease and stroke.
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death, and the interventions that move the number most are unglamorous: blood-pressure control, CPR training, faster response.
We fund free CPR and AED training and place screening where people already gather rather than waiting for them to visit a clinic.
Our research grants deliberately target populations under-represented in cardiovascular trials.
How this program works
- Community CPR and AED training at no cost
- Blood-pressure screening in barbershops, churches and workplaces
- Research grants targeting under-studied populations
